Raksha Bandhan

This Hindu festival is a celebration of brotherhood and love. The name of the festival means to "tie with protection" and rituals include sisters making bracelets from red and gold threads which they tie around the wrists of their brothers to symbolize their relationship. These bracelets, called rakhis, may also be shared among others with close ties, such as close friends and a priest and his congregation.
Krishna Jayanti

Vijayadashami

Also referred to as Dussera or Dashain, Vijayadashami is the celebration of Lord Rama's victory over the evil demon Ravana. The festival is one of the largest in Nepal and is held throughout the country.
